Jack Daniel's Pulled Chicken Slider
The word slider takes me back to an exhibition I did along-with my friend Priya. We made an array of sliders like pulled chicken, mutton pattice, prawns etc. It was an instant hit in the exhibition and we didn’t have time to even drink water. People had some rave reviews about our sliders. We made everything from scratch, even the barbecue sauce!
There is nothing to beat a homemade barbecue sauce. But then you can definitely rely on the store bought ones, especially when its something as tasty as the Jack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce. I just love the smoky flavour it has, something which is quite difficult to achieve when you make it at home.

With the lockdown and being unable to order in any food, getting a burger was a difficult task. So I thought of making some burger buns and have a greasy, sticky pulled chicken to go along-with it. This is an easy recipe if you plan a bit ahead.
The slider recipe is an easy one, which guarantees 100% results! And while the buns are getting fermented you can work on your chicken. And in no time you will have a very fancy looking restaurant style pulled chicken slider. You can half the recipe as per your need.

Instructions
Slider Buns
- Mix and knead all of the dough ingredients — by hand, mixer, or bread machine — to make a soft, smooth dough.
- Cover the dough, and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours, or until it's nearly doubled in bulk.
- Gently deflate the dough, and divide it into 24 pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball. Place the buns on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for about an hour, until noticeably puffy.
- Brush the buns with about half of the melted butter.
- Bake the buns in a preheated 190°C oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden. Remove them from the oven, and brush with the remaining melted butter. This will give the buns a satiny, buttery crust.
- Cool the buns on a rack.
Pulled Chicken
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Add the chicken breasts to it. Cook it till it's well done.
- Place the chicken on a chopping board and shred it using two forks.
- Add the sauce to the same frying pan and bring to a boil. Add the chicken and cook till the chicken is fully coated and looks sticky and the sauce is well reduced.
Assembly
- Slice the slider buns horizontally.
- Add some mayonnaise to the bottom part of the slider. Place a few lettuce leaves.
- Spoon in some pulled chicken . Place some sliced onions on the chicken.
- Add the caramelised onions on top, if using the same.
- Place the top part of the slider bun and press it a bit.
